First off, let me thank you again for the info. My employer cantacted the HO today and he is very interested. We don't have it locked down yet, we have to get a little bit more specific. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.
first, which four way valve did you use. I only know of tekmars. Second, am interested to know if you had a preferance on the zone valves, and the control package. I am thinking we will stage the pumps off of the pressure diff, but may be able to stage just off the zone valves as they open, haven't gotten that far yet to see if we can do that or not. The boss may want to talk to you if you are open to that. You can email me if you might be available for that. In any case, thanks again for the input

    Ready to go reverser

Paxton sent me this valve to do some testing. i am a little behind on data logging :(

You might contact leif at Paxton about one of these ready to plug and play reverser.

Looks like an Esbe valve with a common Honeywell drive unit. very simple component.

    I did

run my shop last part of the heating season with this reverser. i had 4 200 foot loops in the slab. i combined them into an 800 foot lop and recorded temperatures in the middle and at 200 foot from either end.

I just used some digital thermometers Azels and a pad for recording. I need a bigger picture to get actual useable data.

The concept makes sense. Much better than a 2 hp pump :)

  • Jeff,

we use ESBE or Paxton, one in the sme. If you can get it preassmebled, then by all means do so. If you need help with the wiring schematic and access to the critical componets (time delay relays) let me know.

I'll be around the office this week. at 303-778-7772 if your boss wants to talk to me.

Staging the pumps based on delta P could be done with some analog controls, but I'm not aware of anyone with solid state controls available as of yet. Staging based on zone valve calls would work as well.
