Evening all, as part of a bathroom remodel I will have to remove a recessed radiator (to repair a notched beam). This is a small bathroom, say 12'x5', and the radiator will have to be right in front of the toilet. I'm currently looking at the Governale cast-iron convector as an unobtrusive (nonrecessed) replacement for the recessed radiator. Anyone have experience with these babies in small rooms? Can anyone give me (a) rough-in information for this and (b) how to size it for the room? I'd like to figure out how well it fits. Thanks for any help.

EDIT: I forgot to say: STEAM HEAT.

1,500 BTU's, but I don't know what part of the country you're in, the type of wall construction you have, how many outside walls there are, the amount of insulation in the walls and ceiling, how many and how large are the windows and/or skylights...........

Talk to your supplier or heating professional for an accurate answer.

how many BTUs does the convector put out?

Thanks, I can do a heat-loss calculation for the room, but I'm not sure how big the convector would need to be. Governale gives BTUs for other radiators but not the convector.
