    pressure activated bypass valve

Who makes a good pressure activated bypass valve? I have a client with three zones with zone valves that make a racket when closing. Or, any other ideas? I'm tempted to see if swapping a 007 fot the B&B series 100 will tame the monster!? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    ZV's

They're not, they're just fighting a big bad pump on closure!

    Personally,

I like the offering from Viega and Oventrop, but why not look into something that opens and closes slower for a ZV?

When I install the piping, I'll use a spring close ZV, when there is any doubt about the piping, I usually go with something that opens AND closes slowly.(Taco makes some nice ones, and a control that makes things very easy to wire). Chris

    Will the series 100

be enough circ to meet the load? Sounds like an expensive switch requiring yearly maintenance.

What type of ZV's? I have always zoned on the return and never had hammer noises, even with fast acting ZVs.

Shouldn't really need a PAB with three zones, but if it is the easiest fix... I've used the use the Honeywell Braukman, Danfoss and Caleffi.

Be sure to include a ball valve on one side so you can purge.

    a B&G 100 produces less head than a Taco 007.

    Caleffi

Caleffi makes a great pressure by pass valves. Caleffi makes awesome near boiler hydronic materials...
