    What is the best way to eliminate a vacume heating system in a old large one family home and update it using the existing mains and risers and installing a new boiler wth necesary boiler room overhaul

  • Unless it has a motor-driven vacuum pump

    it's probably a "Vapor-Vacuum" system. This was the Cadillac of heating in its day and is still one of the best out there.

    We can help you identify this system. Take some pics of the radiators, the boiler and related piping. Try to find manufacturers' names on the original radiator shutoffs, radiator return connection devices and any lump of iron in the piping near the boiler. Post the results here and let's see what we have. Then we'll be able to advise you.
