raise baseboard radiator

I have to raise a long cast iron baseboard, so I can install my hardwood flooring. I would like to know what will happen after I cut the pipes and drain the water.

Do I have to refill the hot water system?

you have to drain the water and then cut out the baseboard

and yes you have to refill and bleed the system

honestly if you are asking aquestion like this you should have someone do the heating end of your endeavor --if not you will end up having a frustrating day trying to get your system running quietly and correctly after all the hair pulling etc.. you will end up calling someone in to fix it --
