Can't figure out EDR on these radiators...

John, I looked up the radiators in the WeilMclain radiator reference book. They show a 4-tube (not columm radiator at 38" high to have an EDR of 4.25 square feet per section. If all of the radiators are the same (4-tube/38")count up the total number of sections and multiply by 4.25.

  • EDR Calculation Help...

    Hi all -

I don't have these radiators in my possession, I'm trying to figure out if I want to buy them off a guy. His measurements are 38" high on the ends and 34.5" in the middle sections, the two radiators I'm interested in are 16" long.

I've looked through over the Burnham Heating Helper and the material available from Colonial Plumbing, but I can't find any info on a 4 or 5 column, 38" OR 34.5" section? I ran EDR on all my other radiators without any difficulty, are these really that weird?

Hope the pics are helpful enough.
    Thanks for your help
    cheers

  • Those are \"large-tube\" radiators

not "column" ones. If the top of the sections are 38-inches off the floor, the entire rad is 38-inch.

If you have Dan's book "E.D.R.", try the listings for American Corto or National Aero.

As others have already stated, those are not column radiators, they are tube tradiators. You will find them in the Heating Helper in the Tube Type Radiator chart. they are 4 Tube - 38" high and the rating (on average) should be around 1-1/4 square feet per section. Hope this helps.
