wood boilers with oil boiler

Your house system is a closed loop system and requires 12psi water pressure & expansion tank and your wood boiler is an open system witch requires no expansion tank and operates on atmospheric pressure. You cannot connect the two types of systems. I would suggest a plate heat exchanger or some type of heat exchanger in the basement to keep the systems separate

    wood boilers

I am having problems maintaining prime in my main floor baseboard htg when I open the valves to my outdoor woodstove... the basement zone works fine.. the pressure in the oil boiler is 15 psi..before opening to the outdoor woodstove
woodstoves are under no pressure,so when you open the valves the pressure simply goes out the top of the wood boiler.... I am thinking the culprit is air.. I must have air in the main floor zone or in the outdoor boiler.. or both.. I have bled the zones before opening up the in/out connection.. otherwise you will pull air into the system after you have both the woodstove and inside boiler connected as one system.. any advice for this application?
