    Riello Problem

I installed an F5 Riello this week in a new Peerless Boiler. When I went to fire it up it did not come out of pre purge. I changed the control box with a new control box it ran ok for a few times then it stayed in pre purge for a longer than normal time around 45 seconds. Then it ran ok for a while than back to long pre purge. I left the job and tried putting the control box that I thought was defective on another Riello, it ran with no problem. I haven't heard from the customer about any problems but I have to go back there next week. If it still has this problem what can I do?

maybe the oil delay valve is sticking.... You could try another delay valve coil..... Try running the nozzle into a bucket to make sure you are getting oil through the nozzle when the valve clicks....I have done this before and have found bad nozzles or poor spray patterns or pluged nozzles ...... You have to bend the nozzle line to do this but you can tell alot about the way it is spraying this way. Let me know how it works out......

    trick it to see light.

after checking the fuel connections for direction of flow to the tiger loop combo and the tightness of fittings to the general filter and or suntec with the osv.You may not even Have enough oil.sure the oil maybe in the tank buh if you lose the seal on the miniscus of the oil there is nothing there.

also try opening the purge for a momment into a container,i suggest putting some oil into the opening, however with a straw first, in case the pump has little to no oil left in it.

    Pump pressure

I ALWAYS check pump pressure. The pail is a great idea use it often enough I have a special line connected to a clear hose to see if air is entering the system.

Riello will always help through the phone.

    Good Luck

    Two things

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but to my knowledge two things that will not allow the burner to fire and stay in purge mode are a bad cad-cell eye and another is low voltage. If you are below a certain voltage the burner will not come out of pre-purge, if you go over that voltage and dip back down you will go back into purge mode.
