I have a two story 1400 sq/ft home in the NY Metro area. It is heated by natural gas/boiler/baseboard-HW.
I will be replacing the boiler in the next 30 days due to heat exchanger leaks.
Currently I am considering sealed combustion/direct vent boiler + reset control with indirect H/W tank. I'm wondering if a condensing boiler would offer me energy conservation upsides.
HVAC'ers that I've enlisted don't believe condensing boiler will be more efficient than 87% AFUE regular boiler but some on this list and other lists say it works (in NY Metro area) and does save additional energy.
I would appreciate any advice on the matter.
Thanks Paulie0
