Oil to Gas - should I move to \"pumping away?\"

I am replacing the second generation oil boiler in an original radiant floor home built in the late 40's. Replacement boiler os an RBI Spectrum 150 decommissioned from another location. Current set-up has the pump on the return side. The new unit comes with the pump it used which is physically larger (and newer) than the existing one. New plumbing will be 1 1/2" copper so relocating the pump wouldn't present problems. All the big ole gate valves on manifolds etc. work fine. Second question: Should I run the boiler hotter and mix return water to obtain the right temp for the floors? Icouldn't determine what temp. was used in the original set-up-recommendations? (this would permit the use of rads in a room added later but that is optional).
