electric air boost

Hi, my dad asked my opinion on something and I told him I would have to ask someone else. When his boiler (national) had it's yearly, his tech (a guy that recently had his own boiler replaced with whole house hot air) , told my dad that he could get an electric hot air blower thing, and connect it to his air conditioning unit, to preheat the house, or basically give it a boost when things are really cold.

My dad's house is one floor + basement, insulated, three zones, hot water, two zones are baseboard c.i., the third zone is copper baseboard. It's usually warm enough, unless something happens, like one pump quits pumping, or an auto bleeder is on the fritz.

I think the news just has them on edge, and they wonder if something different might help save heating costs.

I mentioned that I heard about outdoor resets, but I don't know if that is money saving thing or what.

Any info on that electric blower thing? Any opinions?

Thankyou
