Rosa Parks

The U.S. mourns the loss of a great citizen and champion of human rights, Rosa Parks. I am saddened, along with many in this community, of her passing on Monday. Rosa Parks touched a lot of people in the Detroit area as well as the entire country. I selfishly always thought I'd have a chance to meet her some day but foolishly never made the effort.

Thank you, Rosa Parks, for being such an inspiration to many young children and for opening the doors to so many people. You will be missed.

A big loss

The world is a better place because of her.
I, for one will look forward to reading more about her life.
Regards.

Rosa

Not only did she open doors, she opened eyes and minds as well.

The thing I respect most.

I ADMIRE her for challenging the racial "status quo" and sticking to her guns.

I RESPECT her not because of her race or the race issue at hand, but because she stood up for what was right.

There are a lot of people who deal with many different issues and choose to overlook them, not make any waves, don't ruffle any feathers. Rosa drew a "line in the sand" and said no more. I RESPECT a person with the fortitude to do that.

What a stronge woman

Not many would have the courage to do what she did.

Yes indeed

A quiet profile in courage in a time and place this was really life threatening. Good lesson for us all, short term she paid a large financial price, long term changed a large powerful country for the better.

Truly great

Mrs. Parks is a beacon of hope, truth & justice. As a white, middle-aged Southerner, I cannot thank her and others enough for what they have done for all of us. She was someone "who got in the way" as John Lewis said today. If anyone is interested, here's more from NPR: <<http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4973548>>
