Nice work. I had all kinds of trouble with those new Taco zone valves. I will never use another one.0 -
depends
what series esp's,had problems when they first came out.New ones are ok.Newer series come in black box, blue are older ones.0 -
Good job Dave
Although I must admit , the pics are a little dark . Is the Peerless cold start ? I just made mine cold start , haven't seen it drop below 130 yet with the heat and indirect demand . Keep up the good work .0 -
I agree...
... that Burnham replacement sure looks a lot smaller than the monster it replaced. Should have a huge impact on the fuel bill and presumably, it also reduced your back strain putting that in instead of specifying another boiler based on the one that preceeded it.
I like the look of the flue pipe, is it stainless? Lots of plumb lines, a LWCO, and other items that show an attention to detail. Nice job.
However, I am a bit puzzled by what looks like a sanitation pipe on the floor and the location of the air purger. Is the purger part of the pump or mounted behind it? I also wonder a bit about the expansion tank/feeder on the return... most people seem to install it ahead of the the primary pump along with the deaerator to maximize air removal.0 -
heating
Nice job.
what kind of air eliminator are you using of the top of the boiler. the one that is piped in black with a 45?

*~/:) i know its warm in Palmer
) Buh...
it gets fairly substantial "Breezes" shall we say,is there some proFoundly new information released that has done away with insulation ,vapor barriers and the application of a dash of sheetrock
Was the guy a Painting contractor? just curious ...paint would even help)oops ...did i think that ?
Something that i noticed in Palmer was the speed of the ground water ! that must also have an effect on your heat losses.. there is so much new construction in your area these days, are the General contractors using wind barrier on the buildings? the comfort levels must suffer a bit when the wind is blasting away at the homes and the outside air temp is sinking thru the thermometer...that kind of wind must generally frick with the barometric signifigantly...dealing with the winter there isnt as easy as people might think.
well, maybe you can sell the old boiler as a boat anchor:)
the owners old stand-by losses would probably be sufficent to heat thier home this winter.:) You are going to come off like a Miracle worker in thier eyesjust for the heck of it, what was the ambient air temp of the previous boiler room when you made the recommendation?

cold start
thats the way to go,boiler should go pretty low on off cycles, thanks Dave0 -
air
separator is a Spirotop in the air scoop built in the boiler.Have been having real good luck mounted there. Cheaper and in close quarters less manifold length.Flue pipe is just galvie.Small ranch so I'm not moving alot of water so my expansion tank local should not be a problem.Drain pipe is main for the house, goes to a ground level septic tank.Builder must of been a winner, thanks Dave0 -
thanks
my little samsung camera likes it dark0 -

air
I thought that was the Spirovent, or Spirotop.
