I have workin on my single pipe steam system and have it pretty well dialed in , in fact the place gets down right hot ... but I have one radiator that seems to be giving me issues.. and it is the one in the master bedroom ... I recently put on new airvents - Gortons, which seem to be a HUGE imporvemnt over the old clogged ones ... but now I wonder if the radiator is venting too fast as producing too much condinsate .. the rad. is a long short one .. 6' by 14" tall .. and mid way through the cycle it starts to vent air in spurts- panting , followed by gurgling like boiling water .. have made sure the unit is pitched well but not really helping the situation .. any ideas ...

thanks guys .. you all have been great helps in the revamping of my system so far ...

    Not a pro..

But I had the same issue with one of my downstairs rads and knocked it down one size and it stopped spitting... but there are lots of other possibilities too. Check out Dan's "A Pocketfull of Steam Problems" for other options, but if you have an extra Gorton with a smaller vent, test it out. :)

    cheers
