Snowmelt Temp. Drop?

Thanks RB!
We will be using a counterflow pattern, most likely cork screwing each loop. The driveway is approximately 10,000 square feet and will be 3" cobble stone on top. They are talking about doing a 4" to 6" stone base, Fomular 600, then 2" of screnning.
We have not yet done snowmelt this way. We have always been buried in cement. We are looking into insultarps but I do not feel very comfortable with its performance. If it does not work we would have a major law-suite on our hands.

What is a typical temperature drop across a snowmelt system?
Jamie
Wirsbo says 25 degrees but I thought it would be much larger then that.

Hi Jamie,
Between 20 and 30 deg F depending on application. I'll use 20 for thin slabs with serpentine patterns and up to 30 for thicker slabs with counterflow patterns.

What you have described is very close to the system at our home with the exception of the insulation...we used 2" Dow SM extruded polystyrene...compaction is very important with this assembly so grade preparation is eveything.
Take pictures.
Cheers,
