I was surfing the net about indirect hot water heaters and found a discusion about Buderus indirect tanks and that they come with LOCTITE 55 pipe sealing cord. I looked it up and it looks like dental floss. here is the link:

I was wondering if anyone has any experiance using it.
The person writing about it really thought it was good.
I like the fact that there is no mess!

Thanks
Don

    Loctite

The Loctite 55 works great! We stopped sending it with our indirects, but had so many request for it, we now include it. I have used this in other applications (pool fittings, plumbing fittings, etc..) where you normally use teflon tape, and have great results.
    Thanks,

    Locktite 55

Works great when properly applied - you should check the working temp, I don't think is is rec for temps above 180.

I've used it before. Much cleaner than pipe dope, if you can get over that slick feel. (L hate that sloal feel of silicone caulk)

Does leave the fittings looking a little "fuzzy" sometimes at the joint.
