I have that too!
I didn't have the phone, so I'll pass that on, thanks!

Thanks for the offer, I've already referred you and Dan as other sources for books.

Although I haven't done gas in over 37 years I'm still amazed by how much we retain and how fast it's coming back to me. Systems are the same and I guess when you've ridden a bike once you can get back on it!

Thanks again, hope all is well!

Looking for KLS Training, Ken Smith!

I have a few students who are trying to locate either Ken Smith or KLS Training for some books on gas.

His web-site is down http://www.klstraining.com and the name is up for grabs.

Does anyone know anything about this?
    Thanks in advance.
    George Lanthier

  • Ken Smith

George I have his last address as:

    KLS Training Corporation
    240 Portage Road
    P.O. Box 670
    Lewiston, NY 14092

    Phone 1-800-388-5348

I have not talked to Ken in quite a while so I do not know if he is still in business.

If you cannot get hold of him can I be of any assistance?

    Out of business

I think he is out of business. A tech school I work with used his "gas fitters guide to electrical schematics" book and was unable to reorder. I don't know but I would fear health reasons. If he is still able I would hope he or ( or his heirs if the worse ) would license his materials for reproduction. I have all his books and thought them a good value.

    Many thanks! I was

afraid of that and your right, they should continue on, it's a legacy!
  • Many times there is no one

to carry on. Ken offered a very good program and was very talented.

I use many of his books for reference from time to time. We actually swapped books from time to time.

I will try and track him down from a mutual fireind on mine in the industry who did some work with him from time to time.

I keep looking for my replacement I hope he or she comes along soon as I want to retire soon. Say come to think of it I am retired.

    Don't wander off to far

    Mr. McElwain!

The industry truly needs a lot more education in combustion as a legal case I received today truly shows.

If heating people don't learn their primary job as well as they can and use test equipment as a norm they can plan on killing a few more and yes, it is an oilfired unit, sad to say and that's all I can say, FACT!
