Temperature Alarm

I have a customer with electric heat in a crawl space. She has had the thermostat stick closed on her and run the heat continuously. I'd like to find (or make) her an alarm that will sound at temperatures below 45 F and above 75 F.
I only know of low temp alarms, but perhaps I could make something work with a heat/cool thermostat?

perhaps
with a transformer for power, a t-stat or aquastat for a switch, and a relay as a load, controlling a light bulb, or instead of the relay, a door bell buzzer as the load..something along those lines.

Used to make a plug in a 115 volt receptacle 'stat that had a dial setpoint and a receptacle output. When the knob setting was hit, it "made" the outlet and whatever was plugged into it would light or go "on." There was a "make on break" circuit flip switch that allowed "break on make" reverse action. They may still have the device, about $25., in the catalog.
Then too, they had the same idea hooked into a phone jack. If you called the number and got no answer, you knew things were okay. If however you call the number and get a busy signal, the device had opened the phone circuit and a "busy" response would be the telltale that the temperature had exceeded the setpoint, and a neighbor should be summoned before the house froze, or you bett drive out and see what's up.
