Burmham RS series? (I think that's the one) It has a tankless built into the front, with a lower firing rate than the V series. Chris

What equipment to use
We (Comfort Home) have done a heat load for Habitat for Humanity. The square footage of the house 1,360 and a heat load around 20.8 MBH.
The only constraint is the house system must be oil fired HW BB. Volunteer help can plumb but not run ductwork. Their words not mine.
The equipment specified is a Burnham boiler (oil) V83 w/ a capacity of 91 MBH and a reccommendation for a tankless water heater.
The V82 Model has a capacity of 70 MBH but no option for a tankless water heater.
This raised all kind of banners not just flags with me, being 4x oversized.
I spoke to Burnham Engineering and they agreed with me that the proposed system should not be used. They did not have any better solutions.
I would like to be able to recommend a better solution, but I have none.
Can anyone suggest a better solution and equipmet?
I will then have to refer the person in charge at H4H to a web site for more info.

I've used the Olsen OBC3D-T
basically a Utica make. A dry base oil fired unit.Utica model BC3D with tankless, a de-rated unit with about 75,000 out and a tankless.

First thing, you should be praised for the work you are doing at Habitat. I have fond memories of the voluteer work I did.
Why not use an indirect as a buffer tank, and pipe your domestic out of that?, boiler still oversized but has some place to go now.0 -
hello. have you considered a really small tank in tank....?
down size the burner nozzel ?for the most part you would have a boiler that could heat the home and hot water from the isolated tank.....the footprint would be about the same as a boiler with a tankless.....efficentcy levels might be signifigantly higher than the first proposal....

Peerless WBV-03 with a Riello at.60 gph will give you a net 64,000 BTU. I'm not sure what you'll get off of the tankless, but it is an option.0
