The company I work for in Allentown has a plumbing license, and plumbing is a very small part of our business.

Near Cincinnati I believe
Ohio is generally known as the home of the Mouat Vapor system (was based in Cleveland), but I've heard of a company called Connors that made steam traps in Cincy. Maybe you could research this when you get there? All Steamed Up, Inc.

I'm a native
Hi fast5frog,
Sharonville is a northern suburb of Cincinnati, somewhat industrial along well traveled I-75. Liberty township is another northern suburb, but completely residential. One of the fasted growing areas in the state. One day a corn field, the next a subdivision. I live about 15 minutes from either one.
What kind of job are you looking for?
Any other questions?
Best regards, Pat0 -
Connors
Hi Steamhead,
I did the research at the historical society and came up with an address for only the years 1928-29, no literature or anything else. I'm still working on it though.
Best regards, Pat0 -
Sharonville
Booming area of Northern Cincinati but lots of residential areas. Liberty township is more country. Lived in Cincy over 50 years, worked for wholesalers there for 25 years. Know many of the contractors there. Some of the best technical people in the country. Pat probably knows the ones that buy the most boilers.0 -
moving
my wife and i have been thinking about moving out to the area because her cousin lives there and we are completely unhappy in the allentown pa area. i have been doing hvac and plumbing work for about 5 years now. the only question i really have is, do you need a license to do any work or if you own your own business? in pa we dont need anything like that so it would all be new to me in that regard. I have my epa cert, gas cert, i do new install, retrofit, some service, boilers, radiant, plumbing install and some service. a little bit of everything i guess. if there is work in the area in any of these fields please let me know! thanks again guys! i really appreciate your help so far...0 -
They're not in
the 1922 thru 1926 and 1930 ASHVE Guides either, when I find 1927 thru 1929 I'll keep my eye out for them.....All Steamed Up, Inc.

connors vapor trap
Thanks steamhead,
Since they are my hometown vapor system, I'm very curious. I brought the trap I have to Wetstock VI and got some interesting comments, but no hard facts.
Best regards, Pat0 -
Can you
post a pic of this trap, so those of us who didn't make Wetstock can see it?0 -

Hi steamhead,
Be glad to, give me a day or so. I'll make it a separate post to get off this thread.
Best regards, Pat

allentown,pa.

Oh, this is exciting
I understand Dayton is somewhere near Sharonville and Liberty Township. This can only be most exciting. Don't you think so?
To those who do play golf, the US Senior Open at the NCR country club starts this week. Watch for us on TV. Could be a big deal.
Glimpses of NCR's past show factories powered by steam, cash registers ferried on trains pulled by fireless engines that where refueled at steam hydrants and employee swimming pools heated by steam condensate pouring out of the powerhouse.
I'll be watching for steam if anyone asks...
Welcome to the Miami Valley.

maybe i wasnt clear with my question. I never said i had my own business in allentown. I know you need a license to own and operate one here. I am just an employee therefore i dont need one just my boss. I was asking if in ohio if even employees need a license or just the employers. better?
