Hey thanks guys for your help with second floor heat question I had couple days ago. I'll look into your suggestions.
So here is another one..its another house.
House is a big old Victorian. Has three floors, above the third floor in vent area is blown in insulation. If I want to increase insulation up there with the pink stuff do I have to take the blown in stuff out or can I just lay it on top of that itchy blown in stuff (put there years ago by previous owner).
Appreciate your help.
Thanks Todd

Your question suggests...
That blown in "loose" insulation is somehow inferior to batts, rolls, etc?
It ain't! It is in most ways, as good (or better) than some other, competing, forms.
However, 5 inches of blown in (or any form for that matter) of iunsulation can only be enhanced, by 5 more inches of R-19 on top.
