large cast iron radiator move

I have to move a large cast iron radiator away from the wall. It is an american Rad. from 1929. It's at least 100 inches long five tubes per section and about 23 inches high and I am sure it is going to be a heavy sucker.

Will I do any damage to cause the rad to leak using two dollys to move it away from the wall to install new baseboard trim and plaster?

Due to the length is there a possibility it would twist in a way to cause a leak at one of the section connections. If it would leak after reinstall then what? New ones cost a fortune and I can't find anyone in the Pittsburgh area that will rehab rads. The living room is large, 28 feet long. It would be a very chilly room with out that large cast iron beast.

Thanks
Scott

    I wouldnt

worry too much about damaging it to the point of leaking. Just dont drop it and have a BIG bowl of Wheaties with a friend(helper) before you make the lift. I usually put a hand truck under the middle and move them that way. Its not a big deal.

    Wheaties

A Mandatory Idea when moving this monster. If this radiator bows or twists, The government will have to recall all ships in the US inventory. ( I know the ships are steel) It will not bow, but you and your friends might...:) Good luck and put on your weight lifting belts just to be safe. Steel toed shoes is also a good idea.
