Paint removal on radiators

Sandblast them. I tried everything else from paint stripper to power washing last year on our radiators nothing removed all the paint until I had them sandblasted. We repainted them with high temp engine enamel.

    PAINT REMOVAL ON RADIATORS.

ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR 80 YEARS WORTH OF PAINT ON STEAM RADIATORS. SAND BLASTING? ARE THERE COMPANIES SPECIALIZING IN THIS. CUSTOMER WANTS TO RESORE THEM TO ORIGINAL.

Sandblasting is the ultimate paint removal for radiators. Monument (headstone) works usually have the highest-powered sandblasting equipment for a relatively fast job.

I've found that a pressure washer with a zero degree nozzle works quite well. What little is left is very well adhered.

    Sand Blast

I too have sandblasted all my 70 year old radiators. Then spray painted with alkyd enamel paint, one coat tinted primer and two coats finish. Did this during the summer. Let them dry a week and there was no smell at all. It's been five years now and there has been absolutely no peeling.

There are electrostatic painting shops that repaint appliances and duct work. They can paint much faster and it might be worth the bucks if you do all the prep work.
It cost me around $500 to sandblast 12 radiators.
