summer aquastat settings

You might want to look into having a automatic boiler reset panel installed, beckett just came out with one, this will automatically reste boiler water and is fairly affordable, Also you do not want to go too low as well cause you might condense your flue gasses, when you drop the temp of the water, but also the boiler might have to cycle on more cause the temp drops rapidly when cold water goes through coils. IMOH, get the beckett control installed, its advertised in oil heating.com.

    summer aquastat settings

I have a oil fired boiler with a tankless coil. With summer approaching and not much use for heat would it be a good idea to turn down aquastat from 180 degrees to let's say 120-125 being that I am just heating the water for domestic use?

    John,

Take it as low as you can go and still get adequate hot water; and, high enough so the boiler doesn't condense much or at all. You might be pushing it going down to 120, but as we all know, water temperature in a c.i. boiler like yours and the condensing point of combustion gasses is somewhat different than the true water temperature as seen on the boiler tridicator - and a low water content boiler, unlike yours.

    Water Temp

I don't think 120* boiler water will produce enough hot water through a coil for a shower or bath. Maybe around 160 is the lowest I have seen .
