Have a job that I purchased 2-369 zone controls, 1-363, 7-063, 1-512, 3-508, for 7 zones radiant, 4 zones hydro air, with one of them hydro air zones being a constant circ HRV fan, with an AC coil, and a hot water coil, that I didn't know about until just about now. Should I ship all this back and wait until Teknet 4 comes out? When can I get my grubbly little soot stained hands on this stuff? Literature looks like it is exactly what I need with the thermo to control the HRV fan, cooling coil, and heating coil. Then get the boiler reset module, then zone managers etc.....What say Ye? Put in what I already have, or wait a little while for Teknet? Inquiring minds want to know. By the way, the Silver Gulch Brewery underwent an expansion to produce more of the best beer under the Midnight Sun...or so I've heard...not that I would know ;)
Adios Amoeba,
Rocky

I don't believe it will be ready until September

Rocky. And, you know delays can happen. Someone else will know for sure. Mad Dog

  • I wonder if Tekmar's current sales are hurting. I know we are dragging feet on any project that can take the lead time in anticipation of Teknet 4.. hate to sell someone $1000 of controls that will be obsolete and double the cost they would be in a few months...

    tN4

    Hey Rocky!!

My good friend and fellow co-worker, Jason, is coming up to Alaska this Summer. Make sure you take good care of him while he is there. He'd love to see the new addition to Silver Gulch. It may be a prime opportunity for you to go check it out too .....:) I almost religiosly wear my souvenier from there almost every Saturday.

Well, Rocky, I don't know whether or not the boxes you have are opened, or what your return policies with your supplier are. What you have can get the job done. But at the same time I am having a hard time disagreeing with you that tN4 may be a better match. Keep in mind the rough-in differences. tN4 requires more conductors. Most of the tN4 Products have a current release date of July 15th. Exception is the 423, for 3 Water Temperatures. It is available later on this year.

So, it is your call. If you like to discuss options for tN4, please call. I would be happy to hear your voice and talk shop. I am in the office all week, before I am back out for another 3 weeks to introduce tN4 to yet another few hundrets of 'loyal blue boxers'.

    You got my numbers Muchacho!

NRT - Man, I missed you in Calgary! We have not seen a change in sales on current products, but your comments are real and make sense. If one can hold off until tN4, I would support their wish in doing so. tN4 is the only true way of integrating systems with good control logic to a price that is superior over anything else I have seen in my years in the industry.

Hope this answers your question. If not, please call.

    Best Regards,

    Mike

    If I were you...................................

I would just install what you have now, and don't beat yourself up over it. Tekmar is a fine product and company, but any company could have a delay or even a few glitches with the new product that could take a little bit to rectify. I always like to step back and see how a new product performs - if I have the chance. Mad Dog
