I have not gotten the lock either with my last purchase here. I did get the lock on other secure sites I visited since.
Whatever it is worth, I tought you might be interested to know.

Hi Dan,
I ordered (and am looking forward to ) the new venting capacity chart by Gerry & Steve.
I noticed that no 'lock' icon appears in the bottom of the browser window which indicates that there may be a problem with your SSL certificate. Many savvy web customers look specifically for that lock before they place a CC order. You may want to check with your webmaster or with Verisign.
The page that asks for your credit card is appropriately a 'https' address which means it is secure. I was able to view the security certificate by looking at the page properties. But it seems to me that the 'lock' should appear as well.
I managed a regional computer manufacturer's website for a few years and some shoppers were adamant about seeing that lock and knowing that the site's security certificate is in order.

Thanks for watching out for us.
I just ordered something from the site and the lock poped right up. Not sure why you're not seeing it but I can assure you that Verisign is in place and that Invision is watching over the site 24/7 (literally).Retired and loving it.0 -
John, you might want
to check your browser settings. In Netscape, click Edit, Preferences, Privacy & Security, then SSL and Certificates. In IE, click Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, then scroll down to Security.
When you get there, look for un-checked SSL and Certificate options. Check them, click OK to in each window to close it, restart if needed and see if it works properly now.All Steamed Up, Inc.

IE settings
I checked them and all seems well. I have netscape installed as well and the lock shows up fine in that browser. However, with Netscape I get three popup messages about security. First one says 'entering secure site' second one says 'leaving secure site' third one says 'entering secure site' again.
I have a feeling it has something to do with the way the Cold Fusion app has to run for the cart, but I'm not sure.
Also, sometimes if there is a secure page inside a non-secure 'frames' page, the lock will not appear.
I have no concern with ordering through the site, because I know how to check for the certificate even though the lock doesn't appear (for me). However, I was just giving Dan a heads up that if others don't see it, it could be potential for lost sales.0 -
Dan.
Two times in a week I've morphed into someone else. I've deleted all my cookies, ran Adaware and spybot, cleared my history and now I'm getting E-mails sent to me from posts but I never changed any of the settings. Watsupwitdat?

This is not new,
When I bought my books about 3-4 years ago, the same problem existed and I reported it to Dan. At that time one could not even check for the certificate but Verisign's seem to all come up in date and valid.0
