Neat, clean, modern, efficient....and.................
not to shabby looking either, huh? I wasn't crazy about the vent tapping height, but it didn't matter...she heated up faster and more thoroughly than any other steam rad I've seen. This radiator was a Steamview Radiator. Mad Dog

Looks good!
Just goes to show that rads aren't all Victorian fantasies, or utilitarian blocks of iron. That would compliment any modern home. Good job, dawg! How's the little one doing?0 -

supply tapping
Hi MD,
What size is the supply outlet? It looks like you used a concentric fitting to increase to the supply valve size.
The radiator is attractive, for those that like the modern look. I'll check out the website.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards, Pat0 -
MD and Boilerguy,
I have used a few of these and was amazed at the output. For trimming them out, I went with Tunstall products. They make real nice accoutriments to accentuate the attractiveness of the units.(chrome, nickle and otherwise)
Just make sure you get them in BEFORE the walls are finished!!!! (don't ask me how I know this NOW) Chris0 -
Nope
They are 1"...but everything is so sleek it looks that way. I brought 1" up to it and had to use a 1" brass street 45 because the pipe needed to slip past a floor joist. Mad Dog

I hear ya....
It went in after the fact because I didn't want it getting painted and spackled. I was by myself, so it took a little longer, but it was not much harder than mounting a panel radiator...more places to grab actually... yep, I hop eto put some more of these in, but they are pricey! Maybe, the company can give us a contractors discount? Mad Dog

Thanks Owen.
Like I said, I've used a few as replacements and have been more than satisfied.
I was very impressed with the output of such a sleek and small unit!During the install I was worried that they may not be enough for all the glass in the room. When the owner called and said they were too hot I immmediately decided to go with steam TRV's. (She wasn't too keen on them because of the cost....)and it hasn't happened yet.
For all....They can be piped and arranged in most popular steam configurations. One pipe, two pipe are not a problem. With a bit of work, they can be mounted vertically also. This is how the bigger ones I used were mounted. Nice stuff ! Chris0 -
Steam Radiators
In addition to the contemporary Steamview, Steam Radiators also makes a sleek classical looking radiator, the Charlston Pro. Check this out also on www.steamradiators.com.
