Blueray replacement

Was that a conversion burner in the Blueray?

I remember seeing lots of the original ones, and the control looks like the Honeywell 8185 that needed the stack sensor to prove flame.(now I'm really giving away my age!)

As usual, nice looking job Ron. I don't miss those boilers one bit. I remember the factory rep. coming in and installing 3 5" draft regulators on 1 job....and we ended up converting it to a Carlin 100 CRD burner after all that bullstuff didn't work either. Chris

Not too far from Dan's Museum . We're seeing a run of these letting go , this was my 2nd in 2 days . This one actually dry fired and the stench was almost umbearable . The 2nd pic is the bottom of the stairs . Wouldn't have been too bad if the baseboard wasn't there . We had to build a platform to turn the boiler and handtruck and catch the 1st step . I always wonder how they got these things in the basement .

There were pipes going every which way , we tried to straighten them out the best we could . I thought there was alot of weight on the header , so I put some added support in strategic places . That wasn't the original choice for the expansion tank placement , but you gotta go with the flow .

    the boiler magician

strikes again. Though this one seems to have too much space for your normal work, the improvement on the near boiler piping makes up for that. I bet the owners usually don't have a clue at the quality of work you do.

    Nice install Ron Jr

As usual another great installation. What did you use or do you use to take weight off of the header?

    How long..

was that thing running with no flue pipe??? just kidding, nice transformation. You guys do nice work.
  • I think it was a Beckett

Sal did the ripout while me and Danny set up the new boiler . We see a few of those stack sensors here and there . From what I hear , these were pretty efficient little boilers . Most people are a little pissed that they didn't last as long as the original , but that's our modern world . Thanks alot Chris .
  • The homeowner

is usually oblivious to the care we take to get all the piping stright and square . This customer was the exception , she loved how it came out and that we pushed it as far to the wall as possible . She also appreciated that we were there the next day after it dry fired . Thanks Jerry .

we always use what's at hand , which was plenty of 14 gauge wire . I tied it up around the last copper pipe on the supply and the steel beam . I also tied it up on one of the other circ pipes . Not the fanciest way to support , but it'll work good for decades . Thanks Bruce .
  • Oh , it was bad

even with the flupipe off and the burner shut down . I'm going to tell the serviceman who dismantled the boiler to keep the flupipe connected from now on . That stuff reeks . Thank you Gene .
  • Thank you Al

    I appreciate it .
