this is caused by poor water conditions,
spirovent have replacement screens for this situation.
so I'm puzzled why its warranty

Spirovent issues?
I was at one of our local wholesale houses last week and noticed about a half dozen Spirovents on their warranty shelf. All of them had the tops pulled off and the screen materials in them were almost completely gone, the wire seemed to very very thin in comparison to new Spirovent material. Salesman told me these are from different jobs and at least 4 years in service. Anyone else seen this yet? Just looking at the deterioration and discoloration it would almost appear to be from an acidic condition, but on all 6?0
