Enjoy your family and loved ones this weekend and be thankful for those who sacrificed to give us the best way of life in the world. Shake a Vet's hand and say thanks. And spend time with your kids -- give work a rest. You earned it.

    Thanks for reminding me about my debt to our vets. The following true story makes me choke up.

    My friend Greg got badly wounded in Vietnam in 1968. After a month in a hospital overseas, he was shipped to the Chelsea Naval Hospital in Boston to get further work done.

    On the afternoon of Christmas Eve, the door to his ward opened and a voice rasped out: "How ya doin", fellas?". It was Jimmy Durante pushing a spinet piano into the ward! He sat down, played and sang a couple of tunes, said: "Merry Christmas fellas!", and wheeled his piano out the door and down to the next ward. They don't make many people like that.
