with great interest Dan. All of that planning has turned out well and turned this job into an exhibit. I'm sure the Home owner could sell tours to us Wetheds to get some money back. Funny, I just ordered my first Danfoss panel to install in a few weeks. I felt very progressive working it into my design and saving lots of time. Now I feel like Cromagnion man. Boy is my forehead sloping or what? Congrats Dan. See you in Minn. WW

Update
Here is an update on the tear down we started just over two years ago. We are finally reaching the finishing stage of the project. I am told the deadline is September 30. We will be done with our part but I don't see how they can possibly finish the interior by this deadline. Here are some photos of the main house and mechanical rooms:

Beautiful Install, Dan!
Writing the instruction/operations manual for that system looks like it will turn into a PhD thesis. So many valves, pipes, etc. to keep track of! I sure hope none of the rear pipes ever need maintenance! ;-P
If there is one question I have, it's the use of lots of paralell FP HX's instead of a single Thermomax/Phase III or whatnot. Wouldn't that have been simpler, or did they require 4 separate heating temperature zones for the glycol loops?0 -
Heat Exch.
Thanks for the comments, Constantin. We went with the wall mounted Danfoss ZCP panels mainly because we needed to pack alot of horsepower in a tight space. Each panel is approximately 400k BTU/hr. and they conserve valuable floor space. Redundancy was also a factor. -DF

Danfoss Panels
Nice to see such great work! Wolseley Calgary distribute, stock and design a number of projects a week in Southern Alberta with Danfoss Panels. We have over 30+ contractors that have used them in their installs. I know that you expect high quality in all of your projects and am impressed with your decision to use panels in this install.
I am looking forward in meeting with you at the Last Waltz!0 -
Thank you
Thank you for the kind comments, everyone. I look forward to catching up with everyone at wetstock next week. -DF

redundancy
Constain:
The Danfoss ZCPs have multiple HXs to make it easier to replace, plus to provide heat to the Snow Melt if one should clog.
There is about 11,000 sq. ft. of snow melt on the job. Quite large indeed. The guys @ FMI did a great job!
Keep up the great work Dan!

Done!
We spent 3+ years on this one. We finished the testing, balancing and start-up reports yesterday and reviewed the job with the consulting engineer. This is our biggest project to date. It feels good to be finally finished! -DF

Chiller
Clammy,
Thanks for the kind words. The cooling is provided by a commercial chiller. The chiller work, chilled water piping and ductwork was done by a commercial mechanical contractor we partnered with on this project. -DF

System
Hi Scott,
The system is a four-pipe system feeding fan-coils, VAV's, reheat, floor warming and snowmelt. The blue boxes are Thermal Solutions modulating boilers - 500k BTU/hr. each. There are eight of these on the job in two boiler rooms. There is 24,000 sq. ft. of snowmelt fed by eight Danfoss ZCP heat exchanger panels. -DF
