Mark, yes i do have all and know how to use them but this unit has been in operation for 1.5 years but all of sudden last night it started delaying on ignition and I can't get it to run to check combustion.

    Munchkin delay ignition problem.

See post below for details, rather that rewrite them. Thanks Tim.

    Tim...

Do you have a combustion analyzer, a magnehelic gauge and a manometer? If no, then I can't help you. If yes, do you know how to use them?

These instruments are required to check critical parameters and are USUALLY carried by professional service people. If you don't have them, you may need to wait until tomoroow to contact someone who does.

    Wellllll lesss'eeee

If it wouldn't run long enough for me to take a read on anything I guess I'd yank the burner and start with a good cleaning. I'm guessing the burner, flame sensor or the HX itself are fouled up with some type of crud. Check the condensate drain, I've had more than a few plug and back water up into the combustion chamber. Could also be the ubiquitous "mouse turds".

Does it light at all or just go through the motions?

    Any failure codes flashing?

    firing problem

How is the flame rod on the unit? and call the utility company and see if they lowered the btu contant of the gas in that area spring is around the corner and we may have shortage so why not lean it out no one will know ha ha.You got to love it.With n gas being the way it is I see o2 sensor on the exhaust coming soon.

    Interesting

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Cars have Oxygen sensors why not boilers. Why not a boiler that adjusts itself to the btu content of the gas? I wouldn't be surprized if one is already in a lab putting away. Making it affordable is probably the bigger problem. WW

    response to steve

Steve, that is the first thing i did. Cleaned flushed etc. I would try to light at the very end of the trial w/ valve open, then bangggggggggggggg. Neighbor heard it saturday night from 2 blocks away. Thought it might have been gun shots? Ps, very slight mouse turd build up and no signs of condensate build up.

    Booming Munchkin

Could the combustion chamber have gotten wet? The gasket between the burner and the combustion chamber access cover can disintegrate when wet, allowing gas to escape and delayed ignition.

Check the spark igniter. The gap could be out of adjustment giving it a delayed ignition (thicknes of 2 pennies). Also re-test yor CO, sometimes for unknown reasons it can drift due to gas quality, gas air mixture. Also check the burner gasket.
