Munchkin 140M, delayed ignition, HELP

Munchkin started delaying ignition, will not start. after appx 2 - 3 seconds after valve opens it ignites with a bang and shuts down and recycles and does same all over again. Spark looks good, flue shows clear. Cleaned slight build up on heat x. Call me if you have an idea at 206-571-6269 or post. Thanks in advance.

I had a unit do this after a cold start-up...area of burner where gas hits the sparker was blocked by condensation water, so gas was not being sent to the sparker, and would not ignite until the chamber filled with gas...BANG!

Let us know what the factory says

Be sure the condensate drain is clear. Sometimes I have had to cover the air inlet to get combestion going so I can run a test and adjust the gas pressure. Wonder why it failed after running for so long? WW

Two Causes I've seen

One is a cracked ceramic insulator on the ignitor, allows spark to partially short to ground. Intermittant problem.

Two is a break in the burner to faceplate gasket that allows gas/air mix to bypass burner and build till it "poofs"

Munchkin delay

We have found at least three Munchkins with loose burners, either the screws were too long or or the tappings had not been cleaned out or they just plain hadn't been tightened properly. Poor quality control, I'd say!
