Burnham furnace will not stop running

I am working on a burnham furnace and can not be sure of the cause of the problom. Wondering if anyone else has ran into this before. Problom---Heat stays on and registers 80 on the thermostat no matter where it is set, Also thermostat goes blank after a while, but heat stays on and blower continues to run. I had suspected the original thermostat and changed it out. This worked for about a day and the the problom continued. I am suspecting the transformer although I am not sure. When I unhook the white wire at the transformer it shuts down the furnace and then runs properly for a short period of time then starts to stay on again. any help would be greatly appreciated....STUMPED.
The furnace info is:
Burnham gas forced air (Gas)
Model # P205A WNI
130,000 BTU
Thanks again in advance for your input...Jeff

    Burnham forced air furnace??

From the info that you gave, it appears that the heat generating device in this system is a hot water boiler fired with natural gas!

Does the boiler feed one or more air handlers (aka "forced air")?

I would recommend that you call a heating professional who has experience in hydronics. What you are describing indicates a need for such a professional to assist you. Watch how he/she diagnoses and fixes the problem and you will be more knowledgeable on this type of system for the future!
