need steam advice

I have a existing single zone steam boiler and the house has a addition being build.the homeowner wants a seperate zone for his addition.whats the best course to do on this.also if you had any diagrams send them on in.

    too little info

    well to start you need to give alot more info, like the size of the addition, whats its use, what heating system is there, gas, oil, water, steam or air. then we can go from there. Diagrams, well its hard to give a digram unless we know the above and even knowing that, it all depends on whats there as to where you will connect. A

    Generally

    if it's just one or two rooms, adding steam radiators is the best way to go if the system can handle the extra load. Thermostatic radiator valves will give room-by-room limiting control.

    But if it's one of those "additions" that doubles the size of the house, I'd install a separate boiler for the addition. This has the added advantage of redundancy: if one boiler quits, the entire house isn't without heat.

    What about a HW loop off the steam boiler? That could be set up as a separate zone.
