    short cycling

Any boiler can short cycle. If you're having a problem, a little more detail would help us help you. Exactly what is happening?

    more info and ideas here

First off, is your complaint that its coming on too often? when did you realize that? new or old boiler, give us temp settings. if circulator were bad it wouldnt cycle cause the hot water would not leave the boiler so it would satisfy itself on high limit.

i have seen boilers short cycle, but you need to be aware that new boilers hold little water and will cycle frequently, there is nothing wrong, just how they work. I installed a new Weil Mclain in a house and the guy called me back and said it comes on for 2 minutes and shuts off, well he has a coil in the boiler for domestic, so it will cyle more. But thats how it runs, even when heat is on, it will cycle on since it can get the water to temperature fairly quick. Also If you have your aquastat settings too close apart, it will cycle very frequently, they should be set at 180 high, 160 low and a 20 degree differential. thats the best I can give you

    thermostat anticipator setting?

What’s the thermostat anticipator set to? If using a Taco 570 series zonevalve with a .9 amp rating, the anticipator should be set to minimum .9, or you will get short cycling of boiler.
