Costs
I not longer tell my customers that the changeout will save them money. I tell them that their consumption will be less. It's the cost of the utilities.

When was the last year gas didn't go up
so you have to be very carefull what you tell your customers. Specially since you didn't inprove their system at all.

a few questions..
What did you replace it with? high efficiency? did you load size it? (heat loss). did you compare fuel used to degree days to see if consumption went down? or was it colder this year? if you replaced it with another 80% and it was colder/price increased...status quo will be maintained.
please respond.

Make sure you have the
cycle set to give you about 3 cycles per hour at 50% of heating load. Is this a conventional thermostat or is it programmable? If it is programmable make sure they are not setting their set back to low and have a lot of temperature to make up. It is also important to check the fan and make sure you are getting good temperatue rise through the unit and not short cycling on limit. I assume you have a time on time off Electronic Fan Timer on this if so what are your dip switch settings? How about the duct system, could this problem have preexisted before replacement and just putting a 80 + unit does not solve system problems. Are your returns sufficient and how many returns do you have?0
