Lives that cross paths but never quite merge. Our neighbor at the shop, a third floor tenant, was a young single mother. A very attractive young lady who always had a pleasant smile and hello as she loaded her baby in the car and occasionally was going as I was arriving. Never even knew her name until today.

Erin was murdered last night. Shot while in her car in another part of town. Was a night out for her as she'd hired a biby-sitter for the evening. Hard to comprehend how or why someone so young, vivacious and (seemingly) outgoing would be squarely in harm's way.

Terrible

We all hear about terrible things but it is tough when it hits close to home. My prayers are with her baby and her...she is in a better place now. I hope she has some family to care for the baby.

It's a while since I cried

I'd become so hardened to all the $$it going on, and just ignored it all. But that hit home, and the tears just wouldn't stay back where a guy's tears are supposed to be.

I will pray for that lonely baby, I really will. I'm a Christian, but I will not pray for the **** who killed it's Mom.

That baby will be the last thing on my mind tonight.
