When I saw "Wild Bill" I should have known it was you!

MA. Plumbing Code (my copy is old) 248CMR pg 100 states"All large volume domestic water heaters installed in other than a private residence and having astorage capacity of over 120 gallons and/or recovery of 200,000btu/hr and being unfired or....................................Shall be constructed in accordance with the ASME Code referred to herrin.

You wouldn't expect otherwise in the great unregulated State of Massachusetts--would you??

ASME requirements in Massachusetts (Constatin, are you out there

Would someone be kind enough to set me straight on when a domestic water storage tank needs to be ASME compliant for the State of Massachusetts. I am currently getting different answers from virually every one I ask. (Specifiically, the tank being specified is 119 gallons, fired via 3 Teledyne HWG-200's, public housing project).

    Thanks in advance,

So @119 gallons it looks like your off the hook!
  • That is correct that is why they make

the 119,000 units to stay just below ASME.
