Honeywell Air separator

I had another Honeywell air separator fail. This is the 8th one. The supply house gives me a repair kit and in 2days it's leaking. I guess I'll take this one out and replace it with a Spirotherm. Anybody have any luck with the honeywell?

What model was it?
And what failed? Can you get me a date code? We have completely redesigned and upgraded the old product to the new Supervent Series, so the old issues should be dead ones. Please get me as much info as you can. Thanks.0 -
Model
Bill, I will get you all the info Thursday March 3. The water is puoring out of the top through the float. It was installed last fall[Nov04]. It is 3/4" sweat. More info tommorrow,I am going to change it out. Thanks for your reply.0 -
Take it back...
to your distributor, and they will warranty it, but if it's one of the new ones, I'll want it back for evaluation. Honeywell is committed to the water products line, and I want to know about any issues that come up. Feel free to drop me an email direct. The new Supervents have a solid float that can't waterlog, and are unlikely to hang up. Thanks for getting me the info.0 -
I used a repair kit on it to get the boiler going. If[when] it acts up again I will replace it. I just didn't have time today. Thanks for the help. Bill, does honeywell have the package components like Danfoss? The ones for seperate zones, with the pumps and controls built in.0 -

No, unfortunately,
but we do have most of the components. We don't make pumps, but the reset systems, relays, valves etc are all readily available. There are 3 reset systems, the AQ475, than does reset by varying the boiler run time, the AQ675 that uses a 3-way mixing valve and the AQ775 that uses either a 4-way rotary valve or an injection pump. We also offer strainers, ball valves, check valves, TRV's, expansion tanks, air eliminators, manifolds, 3 different kinds of zone valves plus other accessories for heating and potable water. If you install any direct fired hot water heaters, consider using our mixing valves to allow the heaters to be set at a higher temp to kill Legionella and run more effieciently, but help protect the homeowners from coming into contact with water that's too hot. Consider direct piping the water heater to the dish washer, but make sure the sink isn't on the same line. The laundry can also be direct piped, unless there's a slop sink there, if there is, you may want to use an under-sink mixer for that, or just pipe it conventionally. Adding the mix valves makes more profit for you, and differentiates you from the low-priced hacks who just slap-in the water heater without any concern for comfort, efficiency or peace-of-mind.0 -
Thanks for all the info.0
