we just took over a hotel for service. the heat is monoflo baseboard. the system was put together by the owner without any experience. the supply tees are all from one side of the run and return tees are from the other side of the run plus the pump is on the return side. major flow problems!would a second pump on the supply side help the situation without repiping everything.

    No

It wouldn't overcome that kind of a gaffe. Get it over with and repipe it and you will be king :)

Can you be more descriptive in exactly what you have?

You wrote, "the supply tees are all from one side of the run and return tees are from the other side of the run."

I'm not sure just what you mean. Are you saying the supply line from the boiler has standard tees in it and each tee goes to one end of a baseboard. And the other end of the baseboard goes into a tee that's connected to a larger line that returns to the boiler?

If so, does the end of the supply line connect to the end of the return line? And is the supply main and the return main the same size all the way back to the boiler? Or does the supply start large and get smaller with the return starting smaller and getting larger as it approaches the boiler?

    I'm with Tony

Especially a commercial bldg like that...do you really have the time to start experiemting. Look, if they are willing to pay and understand it is a shot in the dark give it a try, but don't waste much time. Mad Dog
