ok, obviously im not a pro.
i just had a munchkin 199 installed for a hydronic
forced air conversion. I'm looking at the manual,
and it appears i have a 924 controller (thats
what the manual has in it). the control pad inside the
boiler matches the unit inside the munchkin.
Is that LED panel the controller? or is the vision
one elsewhere. An outdoor reset was wired.
How can I ID if the unit has a vision I?
I'd like to look and see before asking the pros
that installed it. (it was spec-ed in, but maybe they
forgot?). There are no pictures of it on the HT website
to match to.
The rest of the job was #1 excellent craftmanship and the unit is chugging along great.

Look around the out side of your house for a little rectangular plastic sensor. This would be step one.

The OP already said he had outdoor reset. I assume that means he has an outdoor sensor and that the water temperature varies with the weather. If so, he has Vision I.
Vision I is actually built into each Munchkin; there is no added panel or circuit board, and so no pictures to ID it with. You just need the wiring strap and the outdoor sensor. I guess with enough knowledge one could wire it up without paying HTP for Vision I, but it is not worth it. The hardest thing to find is the manual, because HTP keeps its distribution under tight control. Without it you don't know how to set the parameters.

Look on the wiring harness toward the left rear, if Vision I is installed ther should be 2 blue wires for domestic, and 2 wires for outdoor sensor.0 -

I didnt want to send pete into his boiler poking around.
Let us know if there is an out door sensor hooked up and we go from there.

more info
Hi,
Yes there is an outdoor sensor on the outside of the house.
when they were installing, I saw the LED keypad, as they were measuring exhaust etc... I know how to unscrew the cover and take a look, (I'm in another trade that makes me
comfortable with this).
This was this HVACs companies first Munchkin (I asked for it and the vision one, as well as a triangle tube indirect, based on good words in this forum). But, they've done a few dozen peerless pinnacles. They didn't have any problems getting it going, I guess Im wondering if they had access to the vision one hardware and info, as this was their 1st one... or
did they do everything but activate the vision one.
They did such an excellent piping job etc, I don't want to
insult their good work, but I also want to make sure i got what I paid for.

To see if the full Vision 1
package is installed. Press the right most button on your keypad for about 5 seconds. That is the status menu. Then use that button to scroll. Press and release. D3 will be you domestic hot water temp, D5 will be your outdoor air temp. D11 will be your set point. If D3 or D5 shows "NC" you may not have Vision
Hope this helps,

Ask them
for a demo and learn what your reset curve is. They should share your excitement about saving money. Send us a picture of the piping. We love to see a job well done. WW
