www.ncsia.org the website for the National Chimney Safety Insitiue of America. They have an online directory of local NCSIA certified sweeps that may be able to help you.

    anyone out there know of a good chimney installer for work in Coney Island, Brooklyn? We have to get three runs of 8" s/s eighty feet long attached to the outside of a building about twelve feet above grade.

    A not so honest chimney contractor from Long Island was arrested in NJ the other day. The $39 cleaning wasn't so cheap after all. And this guy was disabling heating systems and wouldn't turn it on until paid for the "repairs".

    Certified Chimney Sweeps...

    Try Chief Chimney Services on Long Island, they are in the phone book, and are CSIA certified. You also can call 317 837 1500 for a referral. That number is the CSIA Guild, and they can recommend a CSIA Certified Sweep in your area. CSIA members carry a numbered photo ID, and are recertified regularly. For your own protection, only do business with a Certified Sweep.
