Pressuretrol Question

I had a friend ask me(another homeowner) to look at his steam system to see if there is anything he should do to it. Anyway, I had a few suggestions like insulate the mains and new rad vents since some of them where spitting water.
I walked past the boiler and noticed there was 2 pressuretrols??? Why is there 2? I traced the wires and it looks like they are both wired. I also noticed the pressure was set at 6PSI with a differential of 2. The second one was set at 4PSI with a differential of 3. I wanted to say turn down the pressure, but the 2 pressurestol's confused me so I told him to leave that alone. I suggested contacting someone in the Find a professional section to take a look. Also,I lent him my copy of Dan's book.
It's a Burnham gas fired unit for 1 pipe system.

good reason
there are two on there for a reason, the lower one is most likely a automatic one that turns off the boiler when the correct pressure is reached and turns the boiler on when the pressure is low. The second is usaually a manual reset pressure troll. in the even the first one failed, the second one is set higher and will shut off at the higher pressure and stay off. this way you have to manually reset it. This is done as a safety feature0 -
Is this system a Powerpile
self generating system? If it is one pressuretrol is for your system the other is an auxillary limit. The system P'Trol should be wired into the valve circuit. The other is wired to shut off the Pilot gas flow in the event of excessive pressure and is wired in series with the pilot generator.
Settings for the system control 2 lbs off .5 on
For the safety control 14 lbs off 9lbs on (Set cut in to 9 and differential to 5)0
