Need heating consult/advice

I am looking for someone to review the heating system in the house in Westchester, NY I just moved into (built in 1927) to let me know how I can improve the system and avoid problems.

The background on the system is the following: It is a two-pipe steam system with an oil-fired boiler that was originally coal-fired. The boiler is original to the house. Based on looking at the radiators, I am assuming they are all original as well. The system works OK for now with some knocking in the pipes and some rooms hotter than others.

I am really look for:

-- A detailed assessment of the system and its various parts
-- Recommendations to improve the efficiency of the system
-- Options for replacing the system eventually -- if that makes sense based on your assessment

Any takers out there for this type of work? If so respond here or email me directly. Thanks.
