Zoning with condensate

If I have more than one zone when using condensate, do I need a seperate by-pass for each zone? Will one by-pass work for all zones?

the reason for the bypass is...

so that you don’t flash 190f+ water into steam in the eye of the pump and cavitate it's impellor to death!!!

So you CAN have one supply with one bypass and two pump branches

You turn the steam all the way up, and wait for the boiler’s pressure-trol to cut it off,
At this point the water is the hottest it’s going to get,

Run both zones – and wait until the boiler goes on and off again of pressure – so that the zone loops are completely hot also

Now just run the zone the will give you the slowest flow and the hottest water to the pump and set the bypass until the pump supply is down to 180, recheck for other pump, and with both as your system dynamics may be different – set it so that no combo of pumps gives higher than 180

!!!Lastly!!! – remove the handle to the bypass valve so that nobody can mess with it and fry your pumps

You can get all this info and much more in Dan’s books – click on red link to left

ps: you need bronze pumps for this

as iron oxide condensate sludge will just stick clog up a cast iron pump
