Peerless Pinnacle??

Any opinions on the Peerlss Pinnacle (80,000 BTU model)? Are these a servicing or reliability problem? It would be replacing a 1983 Weil-Mclain VHE series of the same BTU rating to heat a 1700 SQ. FT. old 2-story home with a single zone. Is this a wise move?? Thanks.

There are thousands of threads on this boiler. Search for "Munchkin" (same boiler, different electronics, different label).

    Why not stick with WM????

Check out the Ultra 80.....That would be my high eff. choice to replace it with.

It's made by Munchkin for Peerless but does not offer the Vision controls to Peerless. Weve installed these boilers and are excellent products. We've had customers that the local gas utility has contacted after the installation to check their meter because their usage dropped so drasticly.

    They do look eff..

but I can't say, tried to get the local rep to come to the school where I teach to give a quick seminar about these because they are cutting edge. Couldn't get him to call me back, sooo if this is how they back the unit even if it is good I don't want it.

Every 3 months we graduate 6- 12 students. These are like planting seeds, when they grow they will buy products that they are familiar with, and shy away from the other ones.

There are several co's that support education and do come, they do a little 2-4 hour seminar. Plus most of them give out #s for these students to call for tech assistance.

I see it as a win-win for all involved,
    especially the students.

Currently have one installed in my home. System has been in operation for a year. Great little boiler. Not one problem. Gas company called last month and wanted to check my meter, because usage is so low. Would reccomend without reservation. Same boiler as munchkin with different control logic. Look into the Tekmar 263 control if you decide to purchase this boiler.

    Pat, tell me

about your set-up with the Tekmar 263. I have had a Pinnacle for two years, and am very happy with it. I don't have an outdoor reset, and would love to know how your system is set up with the Tekmar control. I have the older control board, and am not sure the Tekmar will work with my boiler.

    Tekmar 263

Dave, I had to upgrade my control board to have the control work with my boiler. Talk to your distributor and see what they can do for you. My distributor was extremely helpful in getting me my new board. You will also need an interface cable to connect 263 to new control board.

    To Geno

Please give me a call at 717-235-8007. I would love to show your students a great wall hung condensing boiler, the MZ by Monitor Products.

    Hope to hear from you.
