Boiler Flue Roar

My thimble for the boiler,5", is about 23' below the top of the 8 X 8 tile, brick const. out side chimney. The thimble the barometric is in 18" o/c below that.
8' and 3 90* L's 5" flue pipe boiler top breech to thimble.
Flue with barometric was replaced with straight pipe, picture of pipe inside looks like it started condensing at the barometric. Chimney did vapor at 15* and below outside temp.
Pics and set up read out below

Burner roar solution.
Does your burner sound like it has a jet in the flue.
This cured mine.

Excellent
Yes, those boilers that would let you see the combustion chamber when looking into the breech and past the scrubbing pins generally roar through the damper, and the damper often slams and creaks on starts and stops. Your muffling solution looks elegant indeed.0 -
Al, what
am I missing??
Had that identical setup in my house, it was noisier, FACT!
A liner finally made most of the noise go-away.0 -
Okay, so what
you're saying is that by putting the regulator in the flue you reduced the noise, the condensing, or both?
Must be a bad day, I'm still not focusing on this. I can buy the temperature part but having tried the barometric in just about every location known to man I haven't been able to make it fool-proof.
Noise is harmonic and every job is different. IMO, you may reduce the noise in one job, but I wish I could say it works everywhere.
The best thing I've seen is liners and Roger Litman's tee in the chimney trick.0 -
You have my address
