Steam main insulation

I was wondering if insulating only part of the mains would cause any problems because most of the mains are used for heating useable space.
The reason I wan't to insulate near the boiler is because the 7 gorton #2's at the end of the mains are staying too hot and not releasing and creating a vacuum, and all my radiators are sucking air back through the vents and cooling them off, and I don't keep residual heat in them.
Thanks,
Phillip
