    Hose for thawing

Does anybody know of a hose that can be used for ground thawing. My customer wants to make a hydronic thawing machine that will thaw out the ground here in northern Indiana so diggers can keep working throughout the winter. The hose needs to be flexable to lay in any needed pattern.

    Simple enough

    Watts Radiant Onix!

The pros at my old company had a homeowner call with a frozen snowmelt. The guys were backed up and took a pass on the job..The homeowner asked how would they thaw it if they took the job.

Several days later the HO called, he had bought up all the garden hose at Walmart and spread it across his driveway. Some concrete insulation blankets aka InsulTarp over the top.

The guys took an old indirect tank and connected into the snowmelt boiler and circulated glycol through the garden hose to thaw the system :)

I'd suggest the Onix in a 3/4" size for plenty of flow. Trailer mount a boiler package, I'd use a condensing boiler.

Pattersom Kelly offers outdoor condensing boilers in large btu sizes or daisy chain some Munchkins together. Get a LP tank alongside and thaw on homeboy :)
